Open Competitions
Introduction
We run four Open events each year, as well as our Festival of Golf Week, which golfers who are members of an affiliated Club with a current WHS handicap are warmly invited to enter.
A welcome addition to our programme is the Bearsted Junior Open, on Wednesday 31st July, please see details at the foot of the page.
These events are always very popular and you are advised to submit your entry early. Places are usually allocated on a first come first served basis.
Veterans Open
The Veterans' Open is held in the middle of May. This is an 18 holes Stableford competition for teams of three visitors plus one Bearsted member, with the two best scores on each hole to count.
This event attracts teams from all over the South East of England and is regularly over subscribed so submit your entry form early.

Men's Open
The Bearsted Men's Open held at the end of May is a Kent Order of Merit event played as a 36 holes medal for players from an Affiliated Club with a handicap index of 15.9 or below.
There are prizes for the best scratch and handicap score.

Festival of Golf
The Festival of Golf is traditionally held in mid-June, with visitors invited to play in the midweek competitions. Formats are:
Monday - Seniors Day (Pairs Betterball Stableford)
Tuesday - Two Ball Scramble
Wednesday - Bearsted Bruin (invitation day for Club Captains & Vice Captains)
Thursday - Pairs Betterball Stableford
Friday - Team Texas Scramble.

Ladies Open & Mixed Open
The Ladies Open is held at the end of August. This is played as a three-ball team event and is always well supported by Clubs throughout Kent.

The final Open event of the season is the Mixed Open. An 18 holes Greensomes Stableford played in fours and this takes place in mid September.

Junior Open **New **
New this year, we are holding the Bearsted Junior Open on Wednesday 31st July, tee times start from 12.00 midday.
18 holes medal, scratch and handicap prizes on offer, as well as 'nearest the pin' and 'nearest the pin in two'.
