Bearsted Golf Club adopts the 'smart, tidy and clean' approach to its dress code and promotes a friendly approachable relaxed atmosphere, but whilst still respecting the high standard and traditions of the club. The committee respectfully asks that members, guests and visitors comply with the dress code and adopt a sensible approach on areas of uncertainty.
On the course
Gentlemen and Junior Boys Dress Code
Must have a collar and be worn tucked in at all times. Rugby, football or training tops are not acceptable.
Trousers and shorts
Must be tailored, no cargo style with external pockets or zipped pockets. No jeans of any description are allowed. No beachwear style sorts.
Knee length, sports and ankle socks are acceptable.
Hats and caps
Caps should only be worn with the peak at the front.
Lace-up or slip-on shoes with either soft or metal spikes should be worn with socks. No sandals, trainers or flip flops. Golf shoes are allowed in the spike bar provided it is accessed and exited by the outside staircase.
LADIES DRESS CODE
On the Course
Golf tops should have collars, be smart and tailored and can be worn outside skirts, shorts and trousers no football, rugby or tee shirts.
Shorts, skorts, and skirts should be tailored and an appropriate length.
Jeans, cargo trousers (or shorts), track suits or leggings are not permitted.
In the Clubhouse
Members and their guests who have just finished a round are encouraged to change into fresh clothes before entering the lounge. However, there is no objection to golf clothes being worn providing they are not dirty or wet.
If attending a function please follow the appropriate dress code for the event.
Golf shoes are not permitted in the lounge or restaurant areas, and we ask that no beach style flip flops are worn.
No hats in the clubhouse.
Changing shoes in the car park is not permitted; please use the locker rooms.
