Membership Definitions and Rules

Full Golf Membership is open to golfers of age 30 years and over on 1 January. Members in this category enjoy full use and access to all of the facilities on offer at Bearsted Golf Club.

Five Day Golf Membership is open to golfers of age 30 years and over on 1 January. Members in this category enjoy full use and access to all of the facilities on offer at Bearsted Golf Club on Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays - they may use the clubhouse, and may play on the course on payment of a Guest Green Fee, or on payment of a Reduced Green Fee of £13 if playing after 1.00 pm in winter and 3.00 pm in summer. Five Day members are not permitted to enter the weekend club competitions or invite invite guests to play on Saturdays or Sundays.

Intermediate Golf Membership is open to golfers of age 18 to 24 years, 25 to 29 years, or 30 to 34 years, on 1 January. Members in this category enjoy full use and access to all of the facilities on offer at Bearsted Golf Club.

Overseas Golf Membership (Full or Five Day) is open to golfers who reside abroad for a continuous period of not less than six months in any membership year. Members admitted to this category enjoy the same rights whilst in this country as any other member in the relevant category.

Retired Golf Membership (Full or Five Day) is open to golfers who have been a continuous golfing member of Bearsted Golf Club for 15 years or more, and are fully retired or not gainfully employed. Members admitted to this category enjoy the same rights as any other member in the relevant category.

Student Golf Membership is open to golfers of age 18 years and over in full time education. Members in this category enjoy full use and access to all of the facilities on offer at Bearsted Golf Club.

Junior Golf Membership is open to golfers of age 14 to 17 years, or 9 to 13 years as of 1 January. Juniors are restricted to the times they may play on the course, and will also have to achieve certain playing standards before they compete in Members competitions. Juniors may use the clubhouse but may not generally attend social functions.

Social Membership is open to members wishing to use the clubhouse and attend social functions. They may not normally use the course, although a member who has achieved a certain playing standard may play the course on payment of the full visitor green fee for the applicable day.

Associate Social Membership will enable the spouse / partner of a current playing member to utilise the clubhouse without the playing member, and invite friends and family to the clubhouse in his or her own right, and to obtain a bar discount.

All membership fees are for the annual period from 1st April to the 31st March in the following year. New members joining the Club mid season will pay a pro rata rate until the next membership annual renewal date.
