Bearsted Golf Club is proud to be a member of the 1895 Club, where member clubs around the UK and abroad were established in 1895.
Golfing members of Bearsted Golf Club are offered courtesy arrangements at all other member clubs. They are invited to avail themselves of this opportunity by contacting in advance the secretary of the particular club they wish to visit, to check any conditions/limits which may apply, and to make arrangements for their visit. Rules and restrictions for members using this facility are to be found within our "Members Logged In Area" under "General/Miscellaneous/Reciprocals & 1895 Club".
This opportunity is arranged through a grouping of clubs that were all founded in 1895 and have banded together to provide their membership with the privilege of sampling each others historic courses.
The concept of the 1895 Club (which now has 43 member clubs) was instigated by three Edinburgh based clubs whose centenary year coincided with each other. Enquiries were sent out to other 1895 centenary clubs throughout the country inviting their participation. After some correspondence, representatives of 19 clubs attended a meeting at Handsworth Golf Club where some fine tuning was made and agreement reached to constitute the 1895 Club.
Bearsted Golf Club is one of the newest members to join this group, whose purpose is to foster relationships and offer reciprocal courtesy arrangements between members of participating clubs.
